How Bubbi (the Sheep) Won a Vegetarian a Lamb Hot Dog

Two books by Bubbi Morthens recently arrived at Bókin (...and you can also find his poetry collection Öskraðu gat á myrkrið at bokin.is) which suddenly reminded me with a smile, that we won something because of Bubbi two months ago.

Actually, because of two Bubbis - one the musician, the other a sheep.

The Reykjavík Grapevine was running the wonderfully impossible first round of its “Name That Sheep” competition, and the cover of that particular issue happened to carry the title “The Many Faces of Bubbi.” Looking from the cover to the sheep, I could quite clearly see yet another one of those many faces. So really, what else could we call him but Bubbi? ;-)

Apparently our logic was convincing enough: Grapevine awarded “Bubbi the Sheep” the prize for „creativity and logic“.

Our reward? Two lamb hot dogs. Ari happily enjoyed his.
Mine, however, presents one small problem: I’m vegetarian.

So, Bubbi (the musician ;-)): the next time you buy something at Bókin, it comes with my unused free hot-dog voucher. After all, without you, we probably wouldn’t have won it in the first place.

And since one of our favourite Bubbi songs is Hungur  (even it's about a different kind of hunger, one we can relate to as well... but that’s another story ;-)) - let’s just say: if you’re feeling the other kind of Hungur, the hot dog is on us :-)
