Halldórsson, a dean, layperson and Free Church priest in Reykjavík, and the late Kristín Katrín Pétursdóttir Guðjohnsen, a housewife.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Sigurbjörn and Guðrún lived with Ás on Ásvallagata in Reykjavík, but Guðrún died in an accident, along with the couple's two daughters, when a car ran into Tungufljót in 1938.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Among Sigurbjörn and Guðrún's children were Lárus, the city's conservationist and, above all, the founder of the Árbæjar Museum; Gísli, director of the Grund Nursing Home, and Friðrik, a major merchant in Reykjavík.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003eSigurbjörn graduated from the Reykjavík School of Theology in 1897, received a master's degree in theology from the Theological Seminary in 1900, and traveled widely around the world to study religious and charitable work. He worked in Christian affairs throughout his life, leading children's ministries for theology students from 1897-1900, and later worked in Sunday school in Reykjavík for four decades. He traveled around the country for 30 summers to raise interest in Christian volunteer work, teaching at the Women's School, the Reykjavík Elementary School, the Youth School, the Icelandic Teachers' School, the Icelandic Commercial School, and the Icelandic Mechanical Engineering School. He founded, together with his son Gísli, the Grund Nursing Home and was the home pastor there from 1942 until the end of his life.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003eSigurbjörn was an editor of Christian magazines and held numerous positions of trust for the temperance movement, Christian missions and in the field of relief. He was chairman of the parish committee of the Cathedral for 30 years, sat on the executive committee of the Grand Lodge of Iceland, was chairman of the board of the Union of Icelandic Christian Mission Societies and chairman of the Child Protection Council.
