Among other things, he has made ceramics, porcelain and portraits of Danish folk types.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e As a participant in the Danmark-ekspeditionen, he traveled to Northeast Greenland in the period 1906-08. During the expedition, Friis produced a large number of portraits and landscape pictures, as well as the book Danmark-ekspeditionen til Grønlands Nordøstkyst 1906-1908, published in 1909.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003eFrom 1926 to 1928 he published \"De Danskes Øer\". The expedition to the 132 resulted in a three-volume book in total approx. 1,200 pages. In 1932-1933 he published \"De Jyders Land\", 1-2, and in 1936-1937 \"Danmarks Store Øer\", 1-2.
