When she was four years old, the family moved to Réttarholt in Reykjavík. Björg was the 10th of 15 sisters who identified themselves with Réttarholt. She studied at the Housewives' College in Löngumýr in Skagafjörður, which at the time was considered a good path for life.\u003cbr\u003e Björg's husband was Höskuldur Guðmundsson. They lived for the longest time on Grensásvegur and had four boys together. Höskuldur was a ship's boy at sea and was very busy with Björg, who was alone at home with four lively boys.\u003cbr\u003e When the boys grew up and became adults, Björg began to write in secret, like for \u003ci\u003ethe drawer\u003c\/i\u003e . Just the kind of poems about life and existence, poems for the grandchildren and short verses for birthday and special occasion cards.
