He also had a doctorate in Icelandic literature.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e He published a language course in 1981 Learn a little Icelandic; and together with Frederik Raastad he published in 1985\/1992 an Icelandic-Norwegian dictionary and in 1993 a Norwegian-Icelandic dictionary, as well as the lærgerboken We learn Icelandic.\u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003eFor his work, Orgland received the Bastian prize in 1986. He was also a recipient of the Icelandic Falcon Order and was appointed a state scholarship holder in 1980.
