Poulsen. \u003cbr\u003eThe main purpose of the Dictionary on the radio was to talk to people all over the country about words and phrases, which the lack of a Faroese dictionary at the Department of Faroese Language was not enough. Our language is, to be sure, a young written language, and when we went under the transmissions in 1969, it became apparent that the group of words and language had never been on paper, but lived a long life in the minds and mouths of the people. We have always had people who have enjoyed sitting under and airing them, they have heard good and useful words. The first tooth was Jens Chr. Svabo, who more than two centuries ago had the lucky idea to write down words for a Faroese dictionary, which he intended to do, and those who may remember the dictionary dispatches, will also remember that in many dispatches a word from Svabo was mentioned to be asked about, a word that no one after his day had uttered from a human mouth, and not so rarely answered back that it was still whelk is a familiar word in your or your village. But many, many others have been with us in the great prayer of salvation in the past year, and the fact that people all over the country have shown us prayer of salvation has had a huge impact. The information that came to the dictionary during all those years she was listening to on the radio is both abundant and valuable, both that which directly answered her question, and that which people sent her of their own accord. It can be proven that it was significant that in the future there would be plenty of words of Faroese origin in the human language, which had not yet been written down.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003eFrom calling every town in the Faroes, there were people, even more, who wrote to the Dictionary all the year it was sent. Many of them have passed away due to old age, but with one such edition we could erect a monument to them and to all who have given the Dictionary its existence. It is known to the majority of these sources that they have little schooling, but with their inexhaustible knowledge of today's trade both at sea and on land, they have been there to save much of the moral and historical educational heritage that they have inherited from their ancestors. By getting all these resources in print, we know that they are now up to date, and future generations will be able to learn more about our educational and moral history through the ages, and Sprotin would also like to pay tribute to Jóhan Hendrik W.
