Bishop Erland was bishop in the Faroes from January 25, 1269 until 1305, when King Hákun 5 Magnusson deposed him due to demands from the Faroes, when Bishop Erland demanded too much tax, and demanded that work be done to build the new Magnus Cathedral.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Two copies of the Seyðabrevin are found today.
