Most are related to the subject, but many are independent of place and time; they describe the diverse world of adventure that Sléttan is. Unique maps of Melrakkaslétta are included in the book – with around 1000 place names that are located for the first time by those who know them best; invaluable information is thus saved. Sléttunga is welcome to those who love national lore, nature and the history of the country.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003eNíels Árni Lund, born in 1950, is a teacher by training and was a teacher and school principal for ten years. Since 1987, he has worked in the Icelandic Government, in the ministry responsible for agricultural affairs, most of the time as an office manager.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Níels Árni is from Miðtún on Melrakkaslétta and he knows the north well – the history, people and places.
