The 1000-piece smith Hafliði Magnússon is a Westfjords native, having lived for a long time in Bíldudalur but now in Selfoss. He has written two basic books about life on the innovative trawlers, Togaraságu með tilbringðam and Saltstorkin bros. Hafliði has written various other books, composed musicals and plays, performed for dance, drawn for magazines and books, held painting exhibitions, composed songs, humorous poems and short stories, to name a few. Hafliði must be considered one of the most versatile folk artists in this country. And Oddur Björnsson considers him the funniest author in the country! (Bókatíðindi 2009).
