Thanks. Poems by Rósa B. Blöndal. This is Rósa B. Blöndal's first book.
Rósa B. Blöndal's full name was Jóhanna Rósa Björnsdóttir Blöndal. She was born on July 20, 1913 in Reykjavík.

Rósa studied at the District School in Laugarvatn and the Icelandic Teachers' College. She graduated as a teacher in 1934 and then worked in teaching and school administration around the country. For the longest time, Rósa was a teacher in Laugarvatn.

Rósa married Reverend Ingólfur Ástmarsson and lived with him for most of her life at Mosfell in Grímsnes. From 1981 the couple lived in Selfoss, but Ingólfur died in 1994.

Rósa worked a lot on writing; she submitted both poetry and prose, gave talks and published articles in newspapers. A short story by her was also published in Pennaslóður in 1959, where ten other well-known women had short stories. In an interview from 1964 with the couple, however, Rósa speaks with great modesty about her poetry, does not want to mention it and calls it "childhood angst" and "youthful excitement." It takes talent to write, she says. (www.skald.is)
