Sveinn Hannesson from Elivogum was born at Móbergssel in Litla-Vatnsskarður in Austur-Húnavatnssýsla. He was a farmer in Elivogum at Langholt in Skagafjörður from 1917–1926, but he lived for the longest time on the lands of Sneis and Refsstaðir in Laxárdalur in A-Hún, or a total of 17 years. Two books of poetry were published by Svein while he was alive: Andstæður, Reykjavík 1933, and Nýar andstæður, Reykjavík 1935.
