On other people's stones. Poem by Rósberg G. Snædal.
Rósberg G. Snædal was born in Kárahlíð in Laxárdalur in the Austur-Húnavatnssýsla county, the son of Guðni Sveinsson and Klemensína Klemensdóttir, who also lived in Vesturá and in Hvammur in the valley. Rósberg graduated from Reykholtsskóli in 1941 and completed a teacher training course at the University of Iceland in 1944. He lived in Akureyri from 1941, working as a laborer and clerk there, but taught from 1942–1944 and then again from 1965, first in Akureyri and lastly in Hólar in Hjaltadalur. Rósberg published the following poetry books: Á annarra grjóti 1949, 25 hringhendur 1954, Vísnakver 1956, Í Tjarnarskarði 1957, 101 hringhendur 1964, Gagnvegir 1979. He also wrote and published episodes and collections of episodes, including Stafnsrétt í stákum og bilður 1961 and Skáldið frá Elivogum og fleira fólk 1973. He also published short stories and wrote material for radio. He also edited Verkamanninn for a year, served on the editorial board of the annual journal Húnvetning and was involved in book publishing. Together with Jón B. Rögnvaldsson, he collected and published Húnvetningaljóður 1955.
