Town descriptions and drawings from Eyjafjörður. Written and drawn by Jónas Rafnar. Printed by Valdimar Gunnarsson.
This is the third volume in the Eyfirsk fæði series.
In the afterword, the author says: "On a sunny summer day in 1937, I walked from Kristneshæli up to Hjálmstaðir, which used to be the nearest town to Reykhús, but it had been deserted for a long time. All the roofs of the townhouses had been torn down or fallen in, leaving open spaces, dilapidated buildings and crumbling walls, almost miserable to look at, just waiting to be razed to the ground. - - - Then it occurred to me that it would be interesting for future generations to know exactly what kind of housing their ancestors had lived in at the beginning of the 19th century and until the cement industry eliminated the turf and stone."
