The articles are from newspapers in the West or in Iceland. This is a remarkable collection and a unique source on the writings of Rev. Benjamín Kristjánsson.
Benjamín Kristjánsson was born at Ytri-Tjörn in Öngulstaðarhrepp. His wife was Jónína Björnsdóttir.

Reverend Benjamín became a student in Reykjavík in 1924 and Cand. theol. from the University of Iceland in 1928. He stayed at the University of Copenhagen in the winter of 1925-1926 and went on a study trip to London, Cambridge and Oxford in 1936. Benjamín was pastor of the Union Church in Winnipeg, Canada, from 1928 to 1932. He served in Ytri-Tjörn until 1935, and then in Syðra-Laugaland. He was appointed provost in the Eyjafjörður diocese from April 15, 1964 to 1967. He taught theoretical studies at the Housewives' School in Laugaland in parallel with his pastorate. He served as treasurer of the same school and chairman of the school board from 1951. He spent the latter part of his life in Reykjavík.

Benjamin wrote four volumes of West Icelandic biographies and a two-volume Eyfirðingabók, in addition to publishing numerous articles in various magazines.
