Bláknöttur dansar, a new book of poems by Pjetur Hafstein Lárusson, shows his growing mastery of a vivid poetic style. The book is divided into three chapters. The first contains eighteen Reykjavík poems, portraits of the city. There are clear pictures of familiar surroundings on the one hand, with reference to well-known news, - and on the other, private images and thoughts. The second chapter contains special poems, few and disciplined, and the third contains six portraits from Café Norra Klara, where the author has lived in Stockholm in recent years. Pjetur Hafstein finds himself well grounded in these poems. In his somewhat rough compositions, we hear a personal tone and manner of expression, - here is a poet who comes to terms with the reader.
