Dagsbrún. Songs and poems by Jónas Guðlaugsson.
Jónas Guðlaugsson was born at Staðarhraun on Snæfellsnes in 1887. He studied at the Latin School and was immediately determined to become a great poet. But Jónas believed that he could not make a living from his art here at home and so he moved abroad, first to Norway and then to Denmark, where he worked as a journalist. He died in Skagi, Jutland, in 1916, having just married for the second time. Although Jónas did not reach old age, he published three collections of poetry, all of which bear witness to his great poetic talent. He also published two novels and one collection of short stories.
