The Icelandic aviation adventure began in earnest around the same time as the republic was founded and was intertwined with the spirit of freedom that reigned with the nation. A Day in the Sky is about the people who were in control of this adventure and participated in creating it. Jónína Michaelsdóttir's interviewees are Bergur Gíslason, Páll Þorsteinsson, Hjálmar Finnsson, Kristinn Olsen, Grétar Kristjánsson, Erla Ágústsdóttir, Guðrún Pétursdóttir, Ingólfur Guðmundsson, Davíð Vilhelmsson and Sigurður Stefánsson.
