The play Dunganon covers a five-year period in Dunganon's life, the years 1942 - 1947, from when Dunganon undertook to provide weekly radio broadcasts to the Faroe Islands for the Germans and up until Dunganon set off for Iceland in 1947 with the stated purpose of lighting a cigar at the Hekluel fires.
