Dwarf Ship. Poem by Jónatan Jónsson.

Dvergaskip is, as far as I can tell, the author's only book.
Jónatan Jónsson was born at Þangskáli in Skagi on September 17, 1917, the son of the couple there, Jón Sveinsson, a teacher, and María Jóhanna Sveinsdóttir. His mother died early in 1929, and the three youngest brothers, including Jónatan, went to Bergþórshvoli in Landeyjar to live with their brother, Rev. Jónar Skagan, who was then a priest. Jónatan completed his teaching qualification in 1941 and his matriculation examination in 1945. He studied at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Iceland from 1946-51. He then worked for a while at the Post Office in Reykjavík and later was a teacher at Skagaströnd. For many of his last years he suffered from ill health and was often and for long periods in pain. He is survived by the book of poetry Dvergaskip, which was published in 1975. He died on September 14, 1990.
