Together in a very good way are Gröndal's Zoology and Mineralogy.
* Zoology written by Benedict Gröndal. With 66 illustrations.
In the preface, Benedikt Gröndal says, among other things, "This book is so small that it only contains a small part of what zoology deals with; I have mostly mentioned how many species are counted in each division, and in some categories along the way to remind you how little is covered here."
Then he lists which books he used most in support of the agreement. He mentions books by Lütkens, Troschel and Schmarda. S. Nilson on the birds of the North and H. Kröyer on the fish in Denmark. Tenney's zoology and the travel book of Preyer and Zirkel. The travel books of Eggert Ólafsson, Mohr and Faber.
At the end of the preface, Gröndal says: "I have also been so fortunate as to have the book printed in a more beautiful font than has ever been used before in this country (it is the same font with which books are printed in the famous Claredon Press in Öxnarður; it is precisely with this font that Tenney's Zoology is printed in New York; it is used throughout North America and England; and with it many fine editions are printed in Germany and Denmark) - and excellent printers, and it is not least to their credit that there are so few printing errors." Reykjavík in Ísafoldarprentsmiðja and at its expense 1878.
* Mineralogy and geology compiled by Benedict Gröndal. With 32 illustrations. Reykjavík 1878. Printed at the Ísafold printing house and at its expense.
