Einar Ásmundsson was born 20 June 1828 - 19 October 1893. Member of Parliament, goldsmith and farmer in Nes in Höfðahverfi. Received an award from the Christian IX Endowment Fund for outstanding agricultural work in 1883. Landlord and agent in Nes, Laufássøk, S.-Þing. 1890.
Engaged in teaching and other work in the Eastfjords 1849–1853. Farmed alongside his father at Þverá in Dalsmynn 1853–1855, farmer in Nes in Höfðahverfi from 1855 until the end of his life. Had a ship for shark fishing for a while and himself taught seamanship to the first shark captains. Appointed commissioner of Möðruvallaklaustur in 1882.
Member of Parliament for Eyfjord 1874–1885, Member of Parliament for South Þingeyri 1892–1893.
