Memoirs of a Viking. Adventures and love stories of Louis-Adhémar Timothée Le Golif. Translated from the original by Magnús Jochumsson.
Le Golf, who had one of his ribs severed by a cannonball and was nicknamed Half-Fat , lived in the early 17th century and had his base on the small island of Tortuga off the north coast of Haiti. From there he went on his Viking raids against Spanish merchant ships laden with gold and silver, and here he entertained himself with the women, both married and unmarried, for this nobleman was not confined to one family.
The stories of his exploits are both exciting and poignant. Rarely has a historical document been as enjoyable to read as these memoirs of Half-Blood Viking. (Cover text).
