This is your life. Poem by Sigurður A. Magnússon.
Broken mirror
The shadow of the window
shows you the outline of a single person
in October
trembling like the trees in the background
in the dim glow of street lamps
a tiring eternity
we are filled with groans
and half-spoken words
beyond the glass
a sound that hurts every nerve in the body
You see the faceless picture
transformed into Orpheus
to search for Eurydice and himself
in a film by Cocteau
Fateful leap
from one consciousness to another
from uncertainty to certainty:
The broken glass is falling on you.
blood seeps
The echoes of the athletes are silent.
Naked distress call
a frozen image of love
which will never be enjoyed
Eurydice in the Underworld
eternally lost
Broken mirror
The shadow of the window
shows you the outline of a single person
in October
trembling like the trees in the background
in the dim glow of street lamps
a tiring eternity
we are filled with groans
and half-spoken words
beyond the glass
a sound that hurts every nerve in the body
You see the faceless picture
transformed into Orpheus
to search for Eurydice and himself
in a film by Cocteau
Fateful leap
from one consciousness to another
from uncertainty to certainty:
The broken glass is falling on you.
blood seeps
The echoes of the athletes are silent.
Naked distress call
a frozen image of love
which will never be enjoyed
Eurydice in the Underworld
eternally lost
