Guðný and I sat down with Tryggvi, who was sitting there alone in new green terrycloth pants and with a bottle of brandy in front of him:
"I left the old lady at home," he said proudly, clumsily slapping me on the back, looking at Guðnýja and giving me a mysterious look. He had already reached for the bottle and was constantly urging me to take a sip.
- That's the best way, that's how you should drink brandy, man, preferably straight from a bottle, a man with a big ass. Then he started telling me ridiculous stories about himself, how he had nailed a girl when he was in the country in the old days, damn he had answered the professor coolly when he was in a business law class the other day, "he totally freaked me out, man!", and all the bottles he had drunk in his life, man, sometimes two and three at a time and then woke up with a bang, seeing bugs and fleas all over the walls, "I thought I had gone crazy, man!"
