A few poems by Sigurður E. Málmkvist.
Fáein kvæði is Sigurður E. Málmkvist's first book of poetry. The second was published the following year, 1907. And it was discussed in Nýj kvödvák, 2nd year. 9th issue. 1908. It included this:
It doesn't seem like he has anything on his mind, except to write. And then it sometimes happens that there is little time for thinking and
wit. Much of Hekla is a solitary collection of loose verse,
one verse printed on a page, and that's the age
enough in its own way. I will give one example from
in the middle of the first sheet (the poem is unnumbered,
as some ornamental versions do). It must be
to be referred to as a girl:
It seems to me, even though you are not pink,
if the youth's voice is frustrated,
as if something were sweet
A message of peace will soon be raised.
Who wants to try to understand now?
Or in another place:
A person's life on the path of life
game anyway,
Although many forget, I still remember you.
The virgin is lovely.
Isn't there enough of this good stuff? For 20
until 30 years ago it was customary to equalize what
was considered the most tangible clay carrier, with Simon

older is a good thing. But Simon had such a great gift for form, even if it were not for poetic ideals, that he was much higher
