Mountain lands and the advance of Bishopstungar. By Gísli Sigurðsson.
The 1998 FÍ Annual covers the highlands above Biskupstungnar, Framafréttir, which extends up to Langjökull and Hvítárvatn and extends from the district boundaries of Rótarsandur and Lambahraun in the west and east to Hvítá. It also covers the towns on the edge of the highlands and the mountain roads that run through the area, Brúarárskörð, Konungsveginn and Hagavatn, to name a few.
Gísli Sigurðsson, a journalist, writes here about his hometown, but he is from Úthlíð in Biskupstungur. Gísli took most of the photos in the book himself, but Mats Vibe Lund and Björn Hróarsson also have photographs in the book.
Jón H. Sigurðsson, a biologist from Úthlíð, compiled a list of flowering plant species that is published in the book.
