Fourteen days at Grandpa's. Rules of hygiene and health for children. Compiled and written by Árni Árnason, a village doctor in Dálar.
Grandpa doesn't like kissing in the first place. He thinks it's the worst kind of etiquette. About kissing, Grandpa says: - "When people kiss, they push their mouths together, and not only that, but there's a little pop at the same time. The people who kiss try to suck air into their mouths, but while their mouths are pressed shut, no air gets in. When the kiss is at its peak, they open their lips wide. Then the air suddenly gets into their mouths and then comes the pop of the kiss. You hear a pop, because the lips are only opened very slightly. But the air that gets into the mouth, where does it come from? It comes from the person being kissed!"
