We embark on a journey with SAM through the vast expanses of modern European, American and Icelandic literature. We visit foreign and Icelandic authors with him, some well-known, others less well-known. Sigurður tells us the story of the Nobel Prize and the Nordic Council Literature Prize. He also discusses the revolution in translations of Icelandic works in the early twentieth century, but he himself played a significant role in introducing the history and culture of the Icelandic nation to the outside world.
