After Sigurður Breiðfjörður had dropped out of law school, he got a job at the Dane monopoly store in Greenland and stayed there for three years. During those years he wrote various things, including Númarímur, which are generally considered his best rhymes. After his time in Greenland, he stayed in Iceland for the rest of his life. Sigurður wrote a great deal, especially rhymes, and is probably the best-known rhyme poet who has ever lived.
This book is a review and accounts of my stay in Greenland.
