Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Schöner, the internationally renowned Austrian glaciologist, climate scientist and director of the Austrian Polar Research Institute (APRI), provides in a descriptive way the scientific background of the snow and ice world – the cryosphere – and how it is responding to and enforcing global warming.
