Gunnar S. Hafdal presented the Akureyri Sports Hall with a generous gift of books in March 1939. Jón Benediktsson tells here about this noble gift and encourages other appreciative Akureyri residents and local residents to do the same, "because the new sports hall is a second home for the growing generations and the sports clubs, built in the heart of the town and one of its most magnificent buildings, the common property of all the town's residents".
