Geirmundur saga heljarskinn. Icelandic ancient manuscript. Bergsveinn Birgisson prepared the printing. Illustrations Kjartan Hallur.
Geirmund the Hellskin now stood in such high esteem that it is said that every man in the Westfjords wanted to sit or stand as he said.

Geirmundur Heljarskinn was said to be the most noble of all the settlers in Iceland. However, his story has never been celebrated – until now. After all, he is, after all, a 21st century man, even though he lived 1100 years ago. Bergsveinn Birgisson attracted a lot of attention in Norway in 2013 for his scholarly work about Geirmundur Heljarskinn, which he wrote in Norwegian and called The Black Viking. Here, however, you can finally read Geirmundur's own magnificent story. And it's time.

Bergsveinn Birgisson has been researching the story of the settler Geirmundur Heljarskinn for years. He has searched far and wide, in ancient writings, oral traditions and place names, relying on archaeological research, grammar and genetics. Here is the story of the Icelanders that was not allowed to be included.
