Helga in Stóruvík. A novel by Sólveig Sveinsson. Aðalheiður Johnson, an Icelandic writer.
This is, as far as I can tell, the only book by Sólveigar Sveinsson in Icelandic.
Helga in Stóruvík is a beautiful love story, published a few years ago in California and is called in English Heven in my heart . The story is entirely Icelandic, takes place in Iceland, mainly in an Icelandic fishing village. It tells the story of Icelandic people, and first and foremost Helga and Gunnar. Bad talk often causes big problems in a small village, where people may have little else to do than count each other's freckles, as has been said somewhere. Helga and Gunnar live in such an atmosphere and it creates the tension in this novel. (Cover text).
