Theodór Arnbjörnsson was born in Stóra-Ós in Miðfjörður in 1888. He died in early 1939. He studied at the Agricultural University in Copenhagen from 1919–1920. He was a consultant for the Icelandic Agricultural Society in horse breeding from 1920 until his death and for a time also in sheep breeding. He was then the treasurer of the Agricultural Society from 1932.
Theódór was an undisputed pioneer in the breeding of the Icelandic horse and the man who did very important pioneering work in registering his pedigree and laid the foundation for all breeding and breeding of the Icelandic horse.
