Bjarni Maríno, the author of these poems, is a native of Siglfjörður. He has lived in Siglufjörður for over 40 years. He was born in Akureyri, moved to Fljót in Skagafjörður when he was young, from there to Akureyri again, and then to Siglufjörður. He has spent most of his working life there. He has been a laborer and foreman for many years, then a fishmonger. He has worked extensively on social issues. Bjarni Marínó is married and has four grown children.
This book, which is now available to readers, is the author's third book. Previously published books, Sólris , published in 1990, and Aftanskin , published in 1992, are both out of print. (Cover text).
