On the other side of the sunshine. Poem by Elías Mar.
Mom
Little fat boy
with no fluff on his head and not yet walking
Flies small steps into the twilight
once again
and says this one word he knows.
But he doesn't get the answer he expects.
because his mother is gone,
finally gone,
and he doesn't find this soft and generous
which he desires to be able to
pressed to toothless mouth and sucked … sucked …
That's why he doesn't call more often,
but whispers
for the last time this one weak word:
Mom …
Little fat boy
bald
old, unable to walk
and finally arrived at the boat
restlessly fumbles with his lumpy paws around his blanket
and hasn't said a word for many days.
The hospital chaplain lays a soothing hand
on the fat legs.
Then a small lump calms down
and moans happily:
Mom!
