Where is the land of dreams? Poem by Rögnvald Finnbogason. Illustrations by Tryggvi Ólafsson.
Rögnvaldur Finnbogason was born in 1927. He completed his cand. theology degree from the University of Iceland in 1952. Rev. Rögnvaldur has been the parish priest in Staðarprestakkall for the longest time, or since 1973. Rögnvaldur has previously published the book Jerusalem City of Talking Stones, Diary Excerpts from the Holy Land (1990). In 1988, his memoirs, Faith, Love and Doubt, were published, written by writer Guðbergur Bergsson.
The book is divided into five chapters: Snæfellsnes, The Nordics, Russia, Japan and Life and Death. The poems are inspired by the memories and experiences of Reverend Rögnvaldur, both at home and abroad. "Each chapter has its own unique position, marked by the scene they describe, but together the poems form a strong overall picture of the outlook on life that has been shaped over the poet's lifetime,".
