Inter arma. Insight and outlook. Poem by Snæbjörn Jónsson.
In the preface, Snæbjörn explains his purpose for publishing these poems. Thus, he had written the poem Greetings to Britain and offered it to the editor of a well-known quarterly magazine for publication. But he could not publish the sermons. London, Thou Shall Rise Again Snæbjörn showed the editor of the country's leading annual magazine, but he could not use it. The poem Brother's Greeting was written in January 1941 with the intention of using it at a meeting of a society that considers itself international in nature, and about twenty captains from the British army had been invited to the meeting. So that they could participate in the singing, the poem was loosely translated into English. But later it happened that Snæbjörn's poetry was rejected and "it was so here that it was not the right attitude that was expressed, and it was not considered advisable to deliver the sermons."
