Folktales from Estonia. Sigurjón Guðjónsson, an Icelander.
This poem provides some insight into the Estonian people's mindset in past centuries, their multifaceted folk beliefs about good and evil, about mysterious spirits in forests, rivers and lakes. - Some of the stories are reminiscent of Icelandic folk tales. One can recall the battles and encounters of humans with the Celtic man himself, where he in all his sophistication is subordinate to human intelligence. Others are completely unrelated to them.
