"The Caller of the Word". Einar J. Gíslason and the Pentecostal Revival in Iceland. Compiled by Pétur Pétursson.
The Pentecostal movement in Iceland traces its roots to a revival among fishermen and working women in the Westman Islands in the summer of 1921. It is therefore 80 years old this year. The book discusses Einar J. Gíslason, the undisputed leader of the movement, who was one of the most unique preachers in the country in the twentieth century. He did not write his sermons, but spoke as the spirit breathed into his heart each time. The book publishes some of his speeches. The history of the Pentecostal movement is traced and is closely connected to Einar's personality, his life and work. (Bókatíðindi 2001).
