Kjartan Trausti was born and raised in Akranes and was actively involved in sports and scouting there. For thirty years he was a tour guide on Icelanders' trips around the world - and still is. In recent years he has also taught at the Icelandic School of Tourism.
For some time now, Kjartan has been writing poetry and has published several of his poems in poetry collections, newspapers and magazines. (Cover text).
