Coming from the mountains. Poem by Sigríð Beinteinsdóttir, Hávarsstaðir.
In Grafardalur, which lies east of Svínadalur in Borgarfjörður, there was a farm of the same name, which is now deserted. The couple Helga Pétursdóttir and Beinteinn Einarsson lived there. They had eight children. It was noticed early on that they were all inclined to write poetry. Poetry was held in high regard in the household. Four of these siblings, Pétur, Halldóra, Einar and Sveinbjörn, have published books of poetry and other written works.
Now the group is joined by Sigríður, a housewife at Hávarsstaðir in Leirársveit. She is known for her witty banter with a group of friends, and her poems have been published in newspapers and magazines. (Cover text).
