Ása Guðmundsdóttir Wright was a beautiful Icelandic doctor's daughter who went to England as a young woman and appeared before the British King in a group of British upper-class girls. She married and lived the life of a traditional lady in Cornwall, was a censor during the war years, and then the couple acquired a ranch on the tropical island of Trinidad and lived a lavish and unconventional life there. In her old age, she was responsible for establishing a nature reserve on the ranch.
