The King We Want. Plans for the Establishment of a Monarchy in Iceland by Örn Helgason.
Here are two adventurous events. The first is when Einar Arnórsson, in 1920, was accused of planning to make one of the sons of the German Emperor Wilhelm the King of Iceland. The second, in 1938, three well-known Icelanders, Jón Leif, Guðmundur Kamban and Kristján Albertsson, invited a German prince, Friedrich Christian of Schaumburg-Lippe, who was on friendly terms with Hitler, to become King of Iceland.
