Krukkspá. Jón Borgfirðingur and Jónas Jónsson had it printed. Krukkspá was published in Reykjavík in 1884. Here is a reprint from probably 1976.
The best known of all Icelandic prophecies is Krukkspá. Its author is considered to be Jón Guðmundsson the Learned, and it is likely that it was not composed before about 1650. Krukkspá contains various prophecies about the Westman Islands and in its appendices from later times. The following are the points that concern the Westman Islands, but I have added explanations in parentheses. Krukkspá is printed in Þjóðsögur og borðmölður dr. Jón Þorkelssonar pp. 213—227, and this edition is based on that version:
"In 1514, Jón krukkur prophesied one Christmas night that after the bishop, Mr. Gísli (Jónsson), Oddur (Einarsson) the Tall will come from the Eastfjords. He will be a peaceful chief. But that is something, even if it goes well, because he will lead a moral life, but will follow Christ's cross closely. At that time, Godbrand (Guðbrandur Þorláksson) the Great will reign in Hólar. Both bishops will become old women. But in response to their departure, wonders will occur, that robbers will come to the Eastfjords and the Westman Islands, which will then be plundered and people will be taken captive. Then the Westman Islands will be without a priest. (Rev. Ólafur Egilsson in Ofanleit was captured, and Rev. Jón Þorsteinsson was killed).

Around that time, the islands will be plundered for the third time, but not burned until the year that Brandólfur (Bishop Brynjólfur Sveinsson) will leave Skálholt...
In 1523, the year that Jón rested on his old age, a man named Oddur Kokk had been with him. He had said then that the Westman Islands would remain uninhabited because of robbers and the lack of harbors...
One midwinter night, Jón lay outside. But in the morning he said: Three priests will be in the Westman Islands at once, and two will be captured, but one will reach the shore. Then there will be disaster there, for this world will have a sad end. It is better to be dust in the ground then, in the name of Christ and Mary.

The Vestmannaeyjar Islands are plundered three times, three times people are captured and towns are burned. After that, robbers are sent from the Pope, they are then burned and destroyed, so that they are not inhabited from then on, outside there are workhouses of land...
In the Westman Islands, it is said by word of mouth that Jón Krukkur also predicted that the Turks would raid again when Erlendur became pastor in Oddi and Hálfdán pastor in Ofanleit. Some people were worried when Reverend Hálfdán Helgason applied for Ofanleit bread in 1924, and some believe that this was the reason for the election of the pastor.
