A collection of poems and stories 1976-2003. Short stories and poems by Kristján Karlsson.

Here is a selection of poems from the author's poetry collections and also a selection of short stories. Kristján Karlsson is one of our most prolific and original poets in recent times. His roots spring from the culture of the Thingeys, but he then developed with a long stay in New York and elsewhere abroad and then settled in Reykjavík. Kristján is a literary scholar and has been responsible for extensive literary publications, including the largest overview of Icelandic poetry and translated poetry in the Icelandic language. Kristján's poems convey the idea of an educated worldly man with roots in Icelandic culture. He refers, among other things, to visual art, cultural history, sentences from poetry and his fellow travelers. The poems are both traditional and modern at the same time. In this way, past and present merge and original poems written for the future appear before the reader's eyes.

Kristján's stories take place in the United States and here at home. They deal with human life and delve beneath its surface. The stories were considered an event in Icelandic short story writing, so special and modern were they considered. They have truly stood the test of time and will always be remembered and cherished by their readers.
