Poem 81. Poem by Kristján Karlsson.
By Halvorsen on the go
Like a small god walking free
in the gray morning light
Halvorsen is on his way home without a road.
without a hat and mask
and quickly measures his memory and life
to a worm that thrashes its sinews freely -
that winds through the green and blue grass,
knocks his head off the bench, whistles loudly:
He has a stick, he is out of tune, it is autumn.
