Text: Edda Eiríksdóttir.
Elizabeth was born in Fjörann, as Innbærinn in Akureyri was then called, and she lived there all her life. She built a house there with her husband, Ágústi Ásgrímsson, with a large garden that she cultivated with great care – everything from vegetables to ornamental flowers. Elizabeth and Ágústi had three children. Elizabeth had a unique sensitivity for sculpture and made statues out of concrete and a pond for the garden. In winter, she created beautiful snow art in the garden.
