Ólafur Tryggvason was born in 1913 in Víðivellir in the upper Fljótsdalur valley. He studied medicine at the University of Iceland and completed a specialist course in dermatology in Stockholm from 1945-47. After completing his studies, he ran his own medical practice in Reykjavík until his retirement in 1990.
The poems in this book were written between 1956 and 1993. Some of them have previously appeared in Morgunblaðið's Reading Book, and many of the occasional poems have been sung or read at gatherings.
This is Ólafur Tryggvason's only book.
