Haraldur Björnsson was born in Ytri-Fagradalur on Skarðsströnd in May 1917, but moved to Reykjavik at the age of 9 and has lived there ever since. He became an agricultural engineer from Hólar in 1937 and worked various jobs during the day, both at sea and on land. He began writing poetry at a young age, but did not care much about publishing his poetry in print. This volume contains a selection of his poems and free verse.
